In House Projects
In order to maintain a lead in the performance industry, we continue to test products on in house vehicles. This section will contain updates these projects highlighting some upcoming projects!
Our 2010 SSRS Camaro is in the midst of an exterior makeover. We kept the base Inferno Orange color and removed the vinyl graphics are provided by GM.
The car was completely block sanded and the strips where slightly modified and painted with Summit White. The car then received a two coats of PPG Radiance “Oh so Orange” metallic pearl over the base color and the white strips. Thus far the car has been wet sanded and buffed. Final assembly should be the week of 1/26/2010!
We wanted to have the car have a unique but subtle change from the original color. In addition we wanted the white strips to appear white from a distance but have a different color as you approached the car. You can see under the special flashlight (that emulates outside light) the orange metallic showing through!
Now that the exterior update has completed, a new power plant is underway. A higher breathing 427 engine is in the build process with upgrades to the forced induction system. Projected HP output is targeted to be between 800-850 with this new package.
Update 3/05/2010!
The new powerplant is just about completed. It uses the same shortblock configuration that is featured in our HTR750 cars. This engine will have our Stage 3 ported cylinder heads, CNC machine lower supercharger intake manifold, higher efficiency camshaft, 10 rib pulley system and upgraded fuel system. Hopefully it should see the chassis dyno rollers in a couple weeks!
05/23/2010 Update
Car is finally runing! The Camaro has been fitted with Brembo 6 piston monoblock front and 4 piston monoblock rear brakes with 380mm rotors. Custom 3 piece wheels where also manufactured for brake clearancing.
The engine is our latest forged 427 assembly which features higher flowing cylinder heads and more radical camshaft profile. The supercharger manifold has been CNC ported and extensive upgradges to the fuel system.
The belt system is a custom 10 rib style to keep the charger from having boost slip at boost pressures above 15 psig.
Drivetrain has been upgraded with a ZR1 dual disk clutch, hardened input and output shafts, 1000 hp axles, 3.73 rear axle assembly.
Mild calibrating has yielded output of 720 RWHP and 760 RWFT with average torque from 2000-6500 of 701 ft/lbs at the tire.
